Hi, I’m Nyasha, and on the 18th of May, I’ll be running a 10K to raise funds for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart 'Great Minds Bright Futures'. This charity is doing life-changing work for children in Malawi, and I need your help to support them.
It all started in 2017 when a man named Davie Chalakala approached Dave (the founder of Great Minds Bright Futures) about a school in Dowa, Malawi, where 1,500 children were trying to learn in a building that was falling apart. The walls were crumbling, the floors were uneven, and parts of the roof were missing. Despite these conditions, these kids walked miles to school every day because they knew it was their only shot at a better life.
When Dave heard their story, he knew he couldn’t just stand by. With the help of his friend Brendan Ainscough, a UK businessman, they made it their mission to build a new school for these children. And in 2022, the new Chunzu School was completed.
The school is now a safe, supportive space where children can not only get a great education but also feel cared for and valued. The kids here don’t just learn they thrive. They’ve seen improvements in both their exam results and retention rates. School uniforms are provided to all the children, and they get a nutritious meal each day. For the orphaned kids, there’s a special daycare program that offers emotional support, helping them overcome the isolation and struggles of living in poverty.
I’ll be running this 10K to raise money to help these kids keep thriving. All the funds I raise will go directly to Great Minds Bright Futures, so they can continue to improve the school and support the children who rely on it.
I’m running because I believe every child deserves the chance to learn and grow in a safe, loving environment and because I want to make sure this school can continue to provide that opportunity to the children in this community.
I need your support! Your donation, no matter the amount, will help create a better future for these incredible kids. Thank you for helping me make a real difference in their lives.
Let’s make this 10K count!
