Hi, my name is Cerys and I am raising money for an amazing opportunity that I have been selected for. Out of a large number of applicants, I was chosen to go to Uganda, for volunteering in a hands-on conservation and community project. This fundraising is required for me to be able to take part and I will be doing multiple sponsored events- starting with a sponsored run.

whilst I am in Uganda, I will be working in animal rescue centres that care for some of the most endangered animals in the world, gaining firsthand experiences in wildlife protection and ethical conservation. I will also be taking visits to conservation and rehabilitation centres for white rhinos and chimpanzees, there I will be learning the challenges animals face and the strong efforts being made to protect them.

For a large portion of my time in Uganda, I will be spending it in the Ride 4 A Woman community. This is an organisation that supports women who have been affected by poverty, domestic violence and HIV/ AIDS. They empower women through education, skills training, fair employment and community support, helping create independence and better futures for them and their children. While I’m spending my time here I will be contributing to the community, supporting daily activities and learning through the women's stories.
