UFCABC Fundraiser for Lapu Lapu Event Victims

The United Filipino Canadian Associations in British Columbia (UFCABC) is a conglomerate of over 60 duly registered societies affiliated in the community. The organization is stepping forward to extend to the victims and families of this senseless, brutal and unfortunate turnout to an otherwise low risk, community event held in Vancouver on Saturday April 26, 2025 some financial assistance. The outcome feels numb and surreal but the reality of the needs of the victims and families are marked as some immediate, some bound for long term and all needing to be addressed.

An Ad hoc committee has been created and working on the implementing rules and guidelines (IRG) for fund distribution principled and guided by full transparency and accountability. The following organizations have stepped up as members of this committee including the Circulo Pampangueno Association of BC, Pinoy Pride Vancouver Society of BC, Burnaby Filipino Cultural Society, Filipino Canadian Heritage Society of BC, Fraternal Order of Eagles - True North Hinirang Eagles Club, PNA Philippine Nurses Association of British Columbia, Pinoy Canada BC, United Architects of the Philippines British Columbia Chapter & Filipino Canadian Construction Society of BC.

The oversight will remain to be the responsibility of the whole board and two important member organizations, the Rotary Club of Vancouver Mountain View (RCVM) a Rotary Club in BC with majority of members from the Filipino Community, as the fund disbursement and management lead and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants - Vancouver (PICPA-Vancouver) acting as the project auditor.
