Hey y’all. This is an emergency broadcast to come together as a community on behalf of our good friend and neighbor, Zach Jones.
Zach has always been an asset to the community, whether you know him or not. He started his own business, built his own home, has grown whole nutritious food for the community, and dealt fairly with its members for over a decade.
He is also battling stage 4 esophagus cancer that has metastasized to his liver, has a four-year-old son at home, and is insecure about his food and medical situation when the future has so much uncertainty.
He would swing a pickaxe all day if it meant he and his family could simply live. But he is just too weak to work. Zach would rather eat his own shoes than accept charity. The simple monetary gain we can create with this fundraiser will surely be like sprinkling water on a raging fire.
The real purpose of this fundraiser is to remind Zach of his importance to the community. It is an invitation for him to step back into the role he occupies among us when he finally does recover.
Donated funds will be used to help with food during the holidays, provide Luke with Christmas presents, and help cover travel and treatment expenses as he continues with regular radiation therapy among many other treatments.
So join me as we create a motivational movement around Zach's recovery and we invite him to step into the role that will undoubtedly support us all.
All ships rise when the tide gets high.
With love,
~Sammy
