This fundraiser is created by two high schoolers who are trying to raise funds for the Udaygiri Lions Eye Hospital located in Udgir, Maharashtra, India. The hospital has been active since 2005 and has helped thousands of people experiencing eye-related issues. The hospital conducts these specialized eye surgeries for free and pays out of their own pocket for most services.
This is why we really want to give back to the Lion's eye hospital community in Maharastra, India through this fundraiser.
They have conducted over 10,000 student screening camps throughout several rural areas in Maharashtra, India. Additionally, medical staff members go to schools to screen children, with many being orphans who cannot access eye care otherwise and, consequently, are falling behind in school due to their eye problems.
We are trying to raise funds through this fundraiser to help contribute to the hospital's mission and help support the eye hospital, so they can perform more eye surgeries and continue to improve the vision of people suffering from eye-related issues.
Donating to the Udaygiri Lions Eye Hospital will greatly help the hospital in fulfilling its mission of improving the vision of visually impaired people and will help the hospital in buying the necessary medical equipment to continue helping people.
