My name is April Mink and on March 22, 2016 our family experienced a terrible tragedy. My little sister, Johnie Shadden, was home on a break from work as a US mail carrier when she was shot and killed. The case is still under investigation but we believe that it was a horrible accident.
She leaves behind 2 young children, 5 and 1, and a very distraught husband. Due to the circumstances of her death the children are unable to return home until a later date.

Her husband has asked me to care for the children while he deals with getting his life put back together. We lost a piece of our hearts and are all doing our best to make life for the children as good as we can. In order to get the children here my family will need to first move into a bigger home.

All of the money raised will go to assisting the children. Once we relocate to a larger space we will need to move the children from Nevada to California.
During the investigation of their home many of their toys were broken and clothes were destroyed or lost and will need replacement. Once the children are settled here we would also like to take them to the ocean since they have never been.

As her much older sister I always felt the she was like a  daughter to me. Many of you know me. I always said that I would never ask for this kind of help. I lied to myself. I have no pride left. Please help me re-home my baby's babies. I can't imagine losing my sister, my best friend, and not being able to help her children due to finances. Our time is short. Every single dollar will help these children to build a better life.
