UConn Bridge to Guanin
Donation protected
Hello! We are UConn Bridge to Guanin! We are comprised of roughly 15 undergraduate students at the University of Connecticut that participate in a two-week volunteer medical service trip to the Dominican Republic every January. Considering this trip is entirely volunteer-based, the funds we bring to the communities abroad are gathered solely based on donations. The purpose of the funds being raised are for: children's clothing, prenatal medications, maternal care supplies, antibiotics, antivirals, and various other forms of pharmaceutical supplies. Due to the increased costs of travel and supplies, some of the funds allocated will also go make to our group to make it more affordable for all of our students!
Guanin is a small community located in the rural outreach of Santo Domingo (the capital). Due to a lack of infrastructure and transportation, this community has minimal access to hospitals and pharmacies. Therefore, as a group, we supply the community with medications and supplies while providing medical care alongside local physicians as needed. Thank you for learning more about our efforts, along with your support!
