B.L.A.C.K. Outreach has been a leader in the youth San Jose black movement since June 2020. Our primary focus is to aid the physical and economic liberation of all black people while expanding the collective knowledge of all people. In our 1 year of existence, we have taken steps to do more than protest for the lives of marginalized people locally and across the globe. In July of 2020, we started a mutual aid program called Feed the Block.

Since its inception we and countless volunteers have passed out over 40,000 hot brunch meals to the downtown San Jose unhoused community . We also have distributed hygiene kits, blankets, tarps, fire extinguishers, pet food, tents, clothes, baby formula, emergency hotel stays and more. Feed the Block is looking to raise 10k to buy a new truck in order to help with our food and supplies distributions.

We now look to expand our programs as we move into a new home at Grace Baptist Church. We are building a community resource center that will include a computer lab, study hall and conference room. This space will be a safe space where local youth activists, artists and academics can come together to organize, create and learn. We are seeking donations to help us pay for the rent and to help pay for necessary equipment and supplies for the community space. Items we need for the space include: desktop and laptop computers, printers, desks, tables, chairs, book shelves, projector, school supplies, and books.
