Last year, my baby girl was falsely arrested for domestic violence for standing up for herself in a dispute with her son's father. At the time, he was 32 and my baby was just 21. After having her arrested, they took custody away from her of her ONLY child, stating she has mental problems, a history of domestic violence, and a substance abuse problem. NONE of which is true! She had never been arrested EVER, even as a teenager, when we all do stupid stuff; she wouldn’t dare. Now her son's dad has a hot-shot attorney, and she has ME, that’s it.

She started working full-time so she could pay her child support and the lady who has been doing the monitored visits. She has an apartment where she lives alone, so she has a place that is safe for her son. She has completed intensive outpatient and intense mental counseling and has gone to just check-ins with her therapist. She has one last thing to complete, but she cannot seem to find any help because she WAS the perpetrator. The DV case and protection orders have been dropped, but they still want her to complete a DV assessment. There was no CPS involvement of any type. She is a great momma and deserves to have at least non-monitored visits with her son.

The only place that offers the type of assessment she needs wants $1200! She makes barely above minimum wage and cannot afford that amount. Please help with anything if you can. We have some family that will help, but it's just not enough. Court for the minor modification got continued until next Wednesday, so that was great. We just need to get the DV assessment done ASAP so his lawyer has no grounds to fight it.
