Hearts in Motion Service Trip

Hi everyone! I'm now a second year student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Pittsburgh. During spring break (March 2020), 12 of my classmates and I will be going to Guatemala for 7 days with the organization, Hearts in Motion. While Hearts in Motion has a variety of service programs, we will be working with them to provide physical therapy services to patients from underserved communities who have limited access to healthcare. We will be treating musculoskeletal impairments such as low back and neck pain, as well as neurologic/neurogenic diagnoses such as Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, and spinal cord injuries. Last year we were able to treat over 200 patients and we would love to be just as helpful- if not more- this year!

The financial support that you provide will help me with my airfare, medical insurance, lodging and in-country travel. We will also be bringing medical supplies to the clinics in Guatemala and half of the money will be used towards purchasing the things they need. Every $5, $10, $20 (+) donation counts!

I have learned a lot during my time at school and I am excited to be able to use my knowledge to serve a community that is so close to my heart. I hope you consider donating before March 1, 2020!
