In 2008 My Daughter Valentina Nikac suffered a stroke when she was 3 years old and has struggled with debilitating seizures ever since, the medical term for Tina’s condition is Medication Resistant Focal Epilepsy.
In 2016, Tina underwent an unsuccessful brain surgery that was meant to free her from the seizures she experiences multiple times a week.
Unfortunately since then, Tina has been experiencing more frequent seizures and has been undergoing multiple medication changes.
Tina’s doctor has suggested getting a service animal to support Tina through her violent seizures, alert Tina herself and her caregivers when she will have a seizure and help her through the emotional and physical turmoil Tina feels after having an episode
Unfortunately, insurance won’t cover a service animal for Tina so I am making this gofundme in order to crowdsource a service animal for Tina, especially as she gets older a service animal will help her feel more freedom, a service animal can help her with daily tasks and most importantly a service animal could stop Tina from getting seriously injured during one of her seizures.
