Jean Sena & Family

If you are reading this, you have probably met (and come to have much respect for) Jean Sena. Underneath the smiles and playful personality, there is a humble man. Between working 11.5 hour shifts at PBSO, the man we know is also the father of a strong, brave daughter named Ellice Sena. In 2013, Sena and his wife learned Ellice's life would look much different from what they expected. Rather than playing with her siblings, performing at dance recitals, making that much needed play on a sports team, or just bonding with friends, Ellice would instead spend the next two years in and out of hospitals receiving treatment for Osteosarcoma (also called osteogenic sarcoma), the most common primary bone cancer. After beating cancer's ASS during this two-year stint, Ellice was told that her diagnosis of Osteosarcoma had gone into remission. In 2022, while Ellice continued to get her life back on track, she was hit with the news that her Osteosarcoma had returned and was now in her muscles. Ellice was immediately diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Every day since, Sena and his Family have been in the fight and by her side. On Monday, June 26, Ellice passed away with her father and mother by her side. As Deputy Sena plans to lay his daughter in her eternal resting place, let us ensure the Sena Family knows how much they are loved and supported.

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
