Thank A Healthcare Hero
Donation protected
Due to the success of our initial GoFundMe page, we've had to start afresh! After over $6,000 in just a few days, we'll continue updating our progress and supported projects here. Thank you again for all your support!
Thank A Healthcare Hero is a unique, collaborative joint venture between community groups that support Australian frontline medics and healthcare workers during the spread of COVID-19.
Simply, our healthcare workers have experienced the toughest conditions since World War II. The recent Omicron strain outbreak and varied Governments' responses have exacerbated the demands on an already stressed profession - they deserve our support and gratitude.
Groups including Kindness Coffees, Feed Our Medics, Facebook communities Adopt A Healthcare Worker and #ViralKindness Northern Beaches and famed Sydney café Cohab Coffee have joined forces to create a fundraiser that directs funds into projects aimed in 3 key directions:
Nutrition:
Groups such as Feed Our Medics, Buy Them A Coffee, Short Black Night Shift and small businesses like Cohab Coffee do amazing work, providing invigorating coffees and nourishing food to healthcare workers during long, incessant shifts.
Mental Health:
We’re supporting charities such as Hand-n-Hand, who provide free, peer-to-peer mental health support for healthcare workers across Australia and New Zealand.
Acts of Gratitude:
We’re collaborating with incredible Facebook communities Adopt A Healthcare Worker and #ViralKindness Northern Beaches to channel gifts and care packages to healthcare workers across Australia.
Every project we support will feature on this GoFundMe page alongside our accounts on Twitter (@thankahchero ), Facebook and Instagram (@thankahealthcarehero ). Every dollar will be spent on goods and services that directly benefit healthcare workers in Australia.
