What the funds are needed for:
Assalam alaikum everyone. My name is Shumesa. My family and I are working to raise money for a family that we personally know back home in our village, Jalalia, Pakistan. This small but beautiful village is tucked away in the north of Pakistan. Even more beautiful are some of the peolpe it is home to. Unfortunately, not everyone there is lucky enough to have their own land, including the beneficiaries of this GoFundMe.
They are a small family of 4, with one on the way mashAllah. They have had to move countless times as they have been kicked out of previous locations by no fault of their own. With having two very young daughters and expecting another baby, constantly moving is something no one would want to go through, especially with the excrutiating heat that Pakistani summers are known for. The father of the family is currently earning 700 pkr ($2.5) per day working in the local market, and with those funds all he can do is feed his family.
Why it is important:
It is according to the sunnah of the Prophet, Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him), that we derive the understanding of how important it is to take care of one another as an ummah. Not only will donating be helping permanantly put a roof over a family who is currently dealing with housing insecurity, but you will also be pleasing Allah with your actions. Please consider donating as a form of sadqa jariyah, even if it is a small amount.
How the funds will specifically be used:
- I will transfer the collected money through Western Union to my aunt and unlce who are currently living in the village
- my uncle is currently helping secure a deal for a house for the the family
- they will then purchase a small but livable home for the family with the funds collected
- excess money can help furnish the home with appliances (fridge, stove, microwave) and other necessities such as money for the hospital when the baby is due, etc.
(We were asked to keep the identity of the family anonymous, and would like to respect their wishes by not sharing their names and photos.)
