Miracles for Meghan

Donation protected
Hi Friends, family and everyone else stopping by. The reason for starting this fund is to help my sister, who has been batting breast cancer for the past 14 months.
Meghans story:
Meghan and Cory found out they were expecting their second baby (a little boy) in the summer of 2021. Everything was going as expected, until December 2021 when Meghan started having extreme breast pain. Thinking it was pregnancy related, she mentioned this to her doctor. At 23 weeks pregnant, doctors were quick to confirm and moved swiftly into explaining that the pain was stage 3, triple negative breast cancer. Because of its aggressive nature the next month was a whirlwind with the best care and doctors making sure treatment started right away. The first round was safe during pregnancy (science is amazing). In March, at 37 weeks, on 3/16 at 12:12 pm, she gave birth to her beautiful and health baby boy. A week later, she started a new round of weekly chemotherapy as planned. Each week, Meghan packed up coolers of ice, to try and prevent neuropathy of her hands and feet during treatment. After a delay in treatment due to covid, she finished 12 weekly rounds and was scheduled to have a double mastectomy in July. While continuing IV chemo, she had a successful surgery with clean lymphnode margins. A couple weeks after, Meghan began 6 weeks of daily radiation therapy to help target and prevent spread of the disease. In conjunction with all the treatment, her doctor decided to add a daily chemo orally as a precaution. The side effects have caused blistering on her hands and feet and extreme discomfort, but nothing could stop Meghan from pushing through. Most women have a hard enough time adjusting to motherhood and learning to navigate two young children, but Meghan has managed all with working full time. She has always maintained a positive attitude and continues to push through.
Last Tuesday, Meghan came home from work and started to make dinner for her family as normal, when within minutes a severe seizure came on. Thankfully, Cory was right there to call 911, and had an ambulance there within minutes. Unfortunately, at the hospital it was determined everyone’s fear, that the cancer had spread and there was a cluster of cells under her skull. February 3rd, Meghans amazing medical team was able to remove the cluster. While there is a long road to recovery, with additional surgeries, we have no doubt that this only another chapter in Meghan’s book that she will get past.
Meghan has been receiving a tremendous amount a love and support and we couldn’t be more grateful for it! Creating this fund will help Meghan focus on her recovery instead of the some of the financial burdens, such as health insurance, bills etc. while she is unable to work.
We truly appreciate each and every person who has stopped to read about Meghan’s journey and who are able to contribute either financially, spiritually or with good thoughts and vibes. It means the world to our whole family to have such amazing people in our corner!
