Hi everyone,

This March, I’ll be running the Rome Marathon — and I’m not just doing it for the medal at the finish line.

I’m running for my dad.

We lost him to cancer, and not a day goes by that I don’t think about him — his strength, his humour, and the way he always showed up for the people he loved. Watching someone you love fight cancer is something that changes you forever. You feel helpless. You wish you could do more. You wish you could take the pain away.

I can’t change what happened to my dad. But I can try to make a difference for other families who are going through that fight right now.

That’s why I’m raising money for the North West Cancer Centre.

The care and support provided there means families can stay closer to home during treatment. It means patients are surrounded by expert teams who not only treat the illness but care for the whole person. It means hope during the hardest moments.

Training for this marathon hasn’t been easy. Early mornings. Long runs. Days when my legs want to stop. But whenever it feels tough, I remind myself why I’m doing it. Compared to what my dad went through, 26.2 miles is nothing.

Every mile I run in Rome will be for him.
Every step will be in memory of the man who taught me resilience.
And every donation — big or small — will help support families facing cancer today.
