Campesinx Wombcare Project

 In Community UCSF Voces Latinas, UCSF Nursing Students of Color, and MetroSessions request your support for the

Campesinx Wombcare Project!

The Campesinx Wombcare Project is a community led project that has
distributed more than 1,500 womb care bags, assisted with rent, funeral expenses and many other donations to farmworker campesinx individuals throughout
Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. 

Led by Maria Ramos Bracamontes and Irene Juarez O’Connell the Campesinx
womb care project has been a true labor of love. Maria is an Indigenous Mexicana certified nurse-midwife, who has seen through her work the problems firsthand that largely affect the Mixteca farmworker population.
Irene is an Artist and Social Justice Organizer, creator of the ‘Viva La Muxer’ logo for the project.

They have identified a wide range of needs, including basic needs of daily living, complicated by poor nutrition, poor living conditions,
difficult labor conditions, and pesticide exposure. Examples of  items provided in wombcare bags include; menstrual products, cash, traditional herbal medicines, masks, toothbrushes, toilet paper, diapers etc ...Now, at their one year anniversary, the need is greater than ever. Through this fundraiser we hope to support the efforts to provide access to basic needs for
farm worker families of the Central Coast.

All donations will go directly to The Campesinx Womb Care Project.
