hard-working councillor re-elected.

Maple Ridge is at a crossroad and the results of next month’s civic election will be critical in determining how much tax we pay, how safe we feel on our streets

and whether our kids get the facilities they need.

We believe Ahmed Yousef has the right experience, the right education and the right motivation to put Maple Ridge citizens and businesses first. His agenda is about remembering who pays his wages and to whom he is accountable.—the people of Maple Ridge.

But he needs your help.

Getting Yousef’s message to the people will be expensive. He’s willing to do the hard work getting elected takes, but he needs your financial support to carry his message to every corner of the city.

During his first term. Yousef repeatedly showed up for our community.

He stood strong, even in the face of opposition, to fight for that which has eluded us: moving Maple Ridge forward, out of stagnation.

He voted ‘no’ to raising taxes and ‘no’ to development on the Alouette River floodplain. Those with opposite viewpoints won.

Far from discouraged, Yousef pledges to continue to vote his conscience every time, always in the best interest of the people of Maple Ridge.

On Oct. 15, we can choose to up the ante in the war against decline on our streets, making them safe for families and seniors.

We can choose to invest in our youth and use an increase in development cost charges to fund the facilities and amenities we all deserve.

We can choose to fight for government accountability, business development, and solutions for the homeless that move beyond warehousing,
