Support for Grace

Thank you all so much for the donations. We are overwhelmed with the generosity and support you have shown Grace and our family. We are blessed with very good friends, family and neighbours. When I showed Grace the fundraising page she smiled for the first time in a long time (although she moaned about the photo so think her fighting spirit is returning!). Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity has given Grace a focus for a more positive future and, even though the next few months will be tough to get through, the hope you have given all of us means the world.

Grace Woodruff is just 12 years old. For the past couple of years, she has been suffering with ARFID - Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. Her eating reduced so much during 2023 that Grace hasn’t been able to attend school since October and in March 2024, she was admitted to hospital where she has a feeding tube basically keeping her alive.

Grace doesn’t have much hope at the moment - she’s an inpatient because of how poorly she now is which is bleak when you’re a young girl. The only thing she has shown any interest in, is a holiday, specifically Kefalonia or New York. Sarah has had to take a sabbatical from work to care for Grace and stay in hospital with her, so a holiday like this isn’t on the cards at the moment.

The Woodruff family are close friends of ours and watching Grace struggle with this disorder is heartbreaking for them and everyone around them.

If you can spare a few pounds to help Grace have something to look forward to, they’d be so grateful.
