Our sweet Tyra turns 14 in December & she has a very special birthday wish...
For the 6th year in a row, she wants to donate as many toys as possible to our children's hospital and her oncology clinic.
In December 2014 she spent her 8th birthday in the PICU recovering from a big brain surgery. We had just learned she had a brain tumor. She did very well after surgery and for her 9th birthday she asked everyone to give her toys that she could donate to the hospital instead of gifts for herself. So of course we did just that and we have every year since.
Over the years she has collected and donated over 1000 toys and she is not going to let a pandemic get in her way this year !
Things are a little different though.....
We would LOVE if you could grab just 1 toy for a girl or boy and drop it off at our porch.
If you prefer to donate a few dollars and let her do the shopping, she LOVES to shop even if its not even for her. (We will do all our toy shopping online for delivery or curbside pickup)
Now here's the crazy part... BECAUSE OF COVID WE HAVE TO GET THE TOYS DROPPED OFF TO THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL A LITTLE EARLIER THIS YEAR We wont be able to accept any donations after Sunday, December 13th.
Every little bit of help is so very needed, we know it has been a tough year for everyone. But there are kids spending their holidays in the hospital and this year they cant even have much family with them.
Thanks so much and please share !
