Hello my name is Vanessa and I live in Australia. I am currently fundraising on behalf of my sister in law Nikka and her grassroots organisation in Bacolod Philippines. Below this I will post a message from my sister in law and what her goals and plans are with the funds from this fundraiser. We are so appreciative of any help you give and we thank you in advance.

From Nikka -

The province of Negros Occidental has been severely impacted by Typhoon Tino. While aid is moving through official channels, many of the most isolated and hardest hit sites (villages) in Pontevedra and La Carlota City are desperately struggling with little to no access to clean water, electricity, or hot food.

We are a small, dedicated, grassroots team made up of young Filipinos (including partners from Waves4Water, For the Future, and One Million Lights who want to deliver direct, hands-on aid to these bypassed communities.

We are asking for your help to fund our efforts. OUR 3-PHASE PLAN: Relief, Recovery, and Rebuilding.

Phase 1: Immediate Relief (The Community Kitchen)
What We're Doing: We are deploying a mobile Community Kitchen this to serve hot, nutritious, home-cooked meals directly to them.
The Goal: Serve over 1,000+ hot meals across two primary target areas (RSB and Bucalan) while establishing a clean water station (via Waves4Water filters) and distributing essential tarpaulins and mosquito nets to protect against the immediate threat of rain and disease.

Phase 2: Sustained Aid (Distribution)
What We're Doing: Based on our on-site assessment during the initial phase, we will deliver sustained aid, including Food Packs (rice, canned goods), Hygiene Kits, Medicine, Clothes, and Toys & Books for the children.

Phase 3: Rebuilding Homes (Long-Term Recovery)
What We're Doing: We are hopeful the funds keep coming. Should we exceed our immediate goal, every extra peso will go into our Rebuilding Fund. This fund will purchase construction materials (GI sheets, nails, etc) to help the most vulnerable families, who lost their entire homes, begin to rebuild their lives and shelter.

WHY YOUR DONATION MATTERS
Your donation is direct aid. You are funding the ingredient that goes into a hot meal, the mosquito net that prevents sickness, and the galvanized iron sheet that becomes a roof.
$5 buys rice or bread to feed ~80 people one portion. $20 funds cooked rice for ~330 portions. (That’s a feeding for a small evacuation center.) $50 pays for 3 propane refills so our kitchen can cook for a whole day.
$100 buys tarps and nets to protect 10+ families and cooked rice for over 800 portions.
Please donate today and share this page. Let's show the people of Negros that they have not been forgotten. We will continue to update this page daily with photos from the ground.

(Below is a photo of Nikka and her family who will be using these funds to help aid those most affected in remote areas by Typhoon Tino. We thank you again for any contribution you make.)
