Hello, my name is Corwin. I am a volunteer of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation. In the past summers, I’ve attended Tzu Chi national conferences, which focused on the act of disaster relief. They taught me that the smallest compassionate actions I do could mean the world to those who are less fortunate than I am. With the recent destruction in Taiwan inflicted by typhoon Ragasa, countless people’s homes, cars, and their roads were destroyed beyond repair. In a time of distress, these people have no shelter, no food, no clean water to drink. That is why it is important for individuals like us to follow the lead of Tzu Chi. To give them hope, to give them security, to give them a helping hand in a time of desperate need. My hope is that I can aid Tzu Chi in their acts of charity, to contribute to the efforts to help survivors, to be that second chance that the affected people of Taiwan so desperately need. With your contribution, we will be one step closer to achieving our goal of security, and hospitality for the survivors in Hualien. Even the smallest actions will have a significant impact.
