Mom of two facing brain surgery
Donation protected
Hi my name is Kristen,
I am trying to help raise money for my sister in law Katelynn Rotenberry, she is scheduled to have brain surgery on 10/12/22. She's the mother of 2 beautiful children, she's going to need all the help we can give! Between medical bills, everyday bills (food, diapers, housing costs etc) travel expenses etc.
Here's Katelynn's story!
"I was Diagnosed with a benign meningioma in Oct of 2017.
Received Stereotactic Radiosurgery that October in an attempt to shrink the tumor and it’s growth.
The tumor caused permanent double vision stemming from the tumor pressing on the vital veinous structures (such as the optic nerve) in the left side of the face. My vision has gotten worse slowly over time. The nerve damage in the left side of the face has caused agonizing trigeminal neuralgia (dude worst pain I have ever felt in my life) and neuropathy.
For the last five years I have gone in circles with drs over what to do with this tumor. I have visited Shand’s in Gainesville, Fl, Emory in Atlanta, and Semmes Murphy in Memphis, Tn. All drs have told me it is inoperable due to its dangerous location in my face and how the tumor is entangled around the carotid artery and other important nerves in the face. I have been told if they were to operate it could cause a major stroke that could either leave me paralyzed or dead.
In 2021 I thought the Dr was going to operate because it had grown double the size it was. The Dr put me on wait and watch because he still did not want to go in and touch it. A month ago I got Covid and during that time the vision I had left in my left eye went black, two weeks before I was set to get a eyelid surgery to help me look normal again. That has since been put on hold after going to an appt where an mri was done. Here we are in 2022, a year later and the tumor has aggressively grown again on my scans and surgery is inevitable. I am undergoing a major brain surgery to decompress my optic nerve and to debulk the tumor because he does not feel he can get it all. They will biopsy the tumor to see if the tumor is still what they previously diagnosed it as. Depending on those results I will most likely do radiation and possibly chemo afterwards. I have a long road ahead of me. We are traveling to TN from GA quite a bit all while having normal life’s bills and responsibilities I have 22 month old son and 8 year old daughter that goes to school in Ga. Things are stressful to say the least especially figuring out things in a different state. Thousands out of pocket have already been spent over the last couple months with appointments, hotels, traveling, etc.
I love love love love my babies SO SO much. The fact they have to watch me go through this is heartbreaking and the thought of not being here for them if something happens is indescribable. I need prayers that the best outcome will happen so I can kick this evil monsters ass and be able to live on my babies for years to come!!!"
Please if you are able please donate to this amazing mom in need, any amount would help!!
