Who are we?
Twyford Cricket Club was established in 1892 and now plays in the beautiful grounds of Hunter Park.
Our focus is on the enjoyment of the game of cricket. We have a strong junior section with 40 "All Stars" and more than 40 under 9s to 15s.
Our adult sides are well represented with a championship winning Ladies W10 softball cricket team and two Saturday XIs playing in the Hampshire Cricket League. Development "through the ranks" is central to our thinking with many of our current senior XIs having started out in the under 9s.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Developing and maintaining our teams requires facilities that can withstand frequent use and unfortunately our existing training nets suffered due to our inability to maintain them during the pandemic as many of our volunteers were not available. As a result, we now need to replace both the frame and playing surface.
How we’ll spend the money raised
- Breakdown & removal of existing nets
- Surveys and planning applications
- Technical drawings
- Groundworks and earth removal
- Construction of framework, netting, and batting curtains
- Installation and labour
- Ongoing upkeep
Community impact
We have as a club always provided the nets to the local community without charges for use and we would like to maintain that tradition, inviting and welcoming everyone in the Twyford area to enjoy using them. Our crowdfunding journey will be central to this and to supporting our development pathway for junior (and senior) players for the next 10 years.
How you can play your part
There are three simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Every £ moves us in the right direction.
2. Spread the word. Share the link to any local community groups/chats.
3. Business sponsorship. Use our contact information provided if you'd like to discuss opportunities for your business to be featured across the clubs physical and digital assets, and also receive an invite to our annual sponsors dinner.
