Hi, my name is Nick, and I’m a proud dad to my son, Nicholas.

Nicholas came into this world earlier than expected and spent the very beginning of his life in NICU. Those early days were frightening, emotional, and completely life-changing. From the moment I first saw him, everything else faded into the background — my only focus became keeping him safe, healthy, and loved.

I’m raising Nicholas as a single dad. Like many parents, I’m learning as I go — but unlike last time I became a parent over ten years ago, this journey has been very different. I’m not just learning again… I’m remembering how to be the dad Nicholas needs, while navigating the challenges that come with premature birth and the added pressures that brings.

Nicholas genuinely saved me. Before he arrived, I was caught up in a party lifestyle that I now realise wasn’t serving me or my future. Becoming his dad gave me purpose, direction, and a reason to slow down and do better — not just for him, but for myself too.

Why I’m fundraising

The funds raised will go directly towards supporting Nicholas’s needs as he grows, including:

• Essential baby items and equipment

• Costs linked to his early arrival and development

• Creating a stable, secure environment for him

• Future childcare and developmental support if needed

Raising a child alone is tough — raising one who had a difficult start to life is even tougher. I’m doing everything I can to provide for Nicholas, but a little extra support would make a huge difference and ease some of the pressure during this critical stage of his life.
