On the 22nd March 2026 I will be running Rome Marathon in memory of my wonderful Granda, Billy Dunlop.

We very sadly lost my Granda in March 2023 following a fall in his workplace where he suffered a catastrophic brain injury which flipped all of our lives upside down. I miss my Granda immensely, and I really want to do something to honour him and celebrate his life.

I would love to use this opportunity to raise money for Headway UK, this charity helps support those who have suffered a brain injury and their families. No one ever thinks something simple like going to work could change everything for them and everyone around them but every 90 seconds someone suffers a brain injury. Brain injuries can change the trajectory of someone’s life - they may suffer a loss of mobility, memory loss, vision loss, and behavioural changes. This can often leave people feeling isolated and alone. Rehabilitation and therapy, and an opportunity to meet other people with brain injuries/their families are vital in these situations and those are just some of the great things Headway can support with.
