I had a great day at work today...then I came home to see this.


AND...then...I saw the writing under the picture:

       "Does anyone have extra dog food? I have been making our dog chicken and rice since we are out of dog food. But I don't want to use up all our food. We have been going thru tough times. My husband is furloughed and we are waiting for unemployment."

This caught my eye at first because of the awesome dog.  But, then the description really bothered me.  I reached out, asked questions.  What they failed to mention in their ad for help was that they are veterans.  WHOA!  Wait just a minute.  I can't let this go.  You BOTH served our country and now you need a little help to get back on your feet???  Heck yeah!  

Jacque and Milo met while serving their country.  Jacque served 4 years and Milo served 8.  Jacque, Milo, their two kids and sweet dog have found themselves in a temporary bind.  In December they left the oil industry and moved across the country for a more permanent career. They quickly fell in love with North Carolina. Milo was enjoying his new career while providing for his family, until unfortunately, things took a turn when Milo was furloughed due to the Covid-19 panic. 

So, they need a little help.   They didn't ask for anything other than dog food.  After asking if I could help more, they gave me permission to start this gofundme & use their picture.  All money will be transferred into their name directly. They will take ownership of this gofundme when it's complete.  I came up with $2,000, but I'm sure they could use more.  

They sent a copy of their furlough letter and a copy of their DD214.  Although, I didn't need it or ask for it.  They offered.  So, they have been vetted.
