Two Ten Recovery
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Two Ten Recovery Inc., and any donation will help make an impact.
My name is Richard Reddecopp. I am an alumni of Two Ten Recovery — though not without many attempts at sobriety and repeated failure. I had the opportunity to move into Two Ten after 6 months in inpatient treatment at a private rehab. My experience there was life-changing, and the fact that I am currently at 2 and a half years sober is a testament to that.
Unfortunately, private rehabs are quite expensive and hard to access for the vast majority of people. In spite of the 6 months I had there, I still was not ready to go out on my own and face the challenges of this world with my weak short-term sobriety. Two Ten recovery is a viable option for men and women like myself. It provides a safe spot to land fresh out of treatment. Two Ten has full time 24/7 staff and accommodation for men and women returning to society. They have a great rules and procedures in place to set people up for success.
However, in spite of all the good they do, they haven’t had an increase in government funding for 16 years now. With rising minimum wages and expensive annual government red tape, Two Ten is currently falling short financially by $20,000 every three months. My goal is to raise some funds for this wonderful establishment to change that.
The goal with this money is to help cover that deficit so that they are able to reach more people and invest into them beyond ways that they already are. I am living proof in how investment and generosity can completely shift the trajectory of one’s life, therefore it’s tremendously important to me that I continue to pour into this part of the Winnipeg community.
There are so many people struggling. When I initially thought about how I could personally give, I was narrowing myself to the impact only I could have alone. But I felt called to reach out for more, because I know that addiction is something that ravages humans and families, and the more money we can raise together the more people we can help pour into with Two Ten bridging that gap.
I hope that by telling my story, I can help change lives. And I thank you in advance for anything you may feel called to give — it means more than you know.
