Help the Badt family: Beloved SMMUSD educators
Donation protected
Hi friends,
Longtime Franklin teachers and involved Westside community members Amy Badt (Kindergarten teacher) and Jon Badt (special ed teacher) along with their children Sawyer (12th grade), Luke (College), and beloved dogs Chewy and Dottie have had their lives irrevocably disrupted by the Palisades Fire. Due to the sudden evacuation, they were unable to retrieve important belongings and mementos from their decades in this community. Amy's mom Helen also lost her home. Amy, John, Sawyer, and Luke are doing their best to stay positive and are luckily safe, staying with close friends, but the reality of losing everything is overwhelming. While their home is still physically standing, it will take months, if not years, for it to be safe and habitable, and the status of the interior and toxicity will be unknown for weeks. Please support these dedicated educators who have given so much to us.
Ms. Badt taught my son Teddy and we have known her for more than a decade. We love the Badts!
Update from the Badts: We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us. Words can hardly express how grateful we are for the overwhelming love and kindness we have received during this challenging and uncertain time. Your support truly means the world to us and we cannot thank you enough.
