Hi, we are Two Steps Home

Two Steps Home (2SH) is a nonprofit corporation made up of architects, engineers, carpenters, and retired public servants volunteering their time and expertise to help resolve the unsheltered crisis, at no financial benefit. 2SH is prepared to assemble

partner agencies, advocate, and fundraise the capital cost of Cabin Communities.

Our Board:

John van Nostrand, Chair, Senior Director

Founding Principal of SvN Architects + Planners

Sheila Penny, Secretary Treasurer, Director

former COO of Toronto Community Housing Corporation

Khaleel Seivwright, Director

former Founder of Toronto Tiny Shelters

The pilot project will have 50 cabins, each with their own door and key as well as lighting and electricity. There will be Communal buildings with washrooms, showers and laundry as well as a kitchen and dining area with space for meetings and events.

With this model we plan to keep the voices and the needs of the residents at the core of how the community functions but we need your help.

It’s been almost 2 years that we have spent meeting up every week and going over details for the project. We've figured out an approximate budget to make this happen.

We are raising 2.5 million dollars that will be held in a bank account under our newly registered Not for Profit corporation, Two Steps Home. We are raising these funds for the capital costs for the first pilot community.

Already internally and through private donations we’ve raised $250,000.

Thank you for coming to our gofundme, we appreciate anything you can contribute to help us move this project forward.

If you want to get involved by volunteering please message us here and we will get back to you.
