After around 2½ years of growing, brushing, detangling and patiently waiting, today is finally haircut day! My daughter Maci and I have grown enough hair to donate 12+ inches (30+ cm), and today we're doing the big cut.

This will be the 4th time I've donated my hair, Maci's 3rd time, and our 2nd time fundraising together alongside our hair donation.

Our hair will be donated to The Little Princess Trust, which provides free real-hair wigs to children and young people experiencing hair loss. At the same time, we're raising funds for LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice, through their Locks of Love for LauraLynn campaign, meaning one haircut can support two incredible causes.

LauraLynn provides specialist hospice and supportive care to children with life-limiting conditions and their families across Ireland. Every donation, big or small, helps support the vital care they provide.

Growing more than 30 cm of hair takes a long time (and involves a lot of tangled hair!), but reaching haircut day makes it completely worth it. We're incredibly excited to finally cut it all off today! ✂️
