This September, they plan to travel to the United Kingdom for two years, driven by a desire to grow not just as rugby players, but as people. Their journey is about far more than sport — it’s about immersing themselves in new cultures, exploring the rich history of the British Isles, and building the kind of life experience that simply cannot be taught in a classroom. Whilst in the UK, Joell and Kalem intend to contribute as much as they receive. A central part of their plans is to work alongside coaches in local schools — including supporting children with learning difficulties — bringing the values of rugby: teamwork, respect, and resilience, into environments where those qualities can make a real and lasting difference. Beyond schools, they plan to give their time to local rugby clubs across both men’s and women’s sections, sharing their passion for the game at every level. They will also play club rugby themselves whilst seeking meaningful employment, building the life skills that will serve them long after this adventure ends. Every pound raised goes directly towards giving Joell and Kalem the foundation they need — covering travel costs, initial accommodation, healthcare whilst in the UK, and the financial security to focus on making the very most of this experience.
