TWO became FOUR

Hello dear friends. We are reaching out to you with deep appreciation and sending love your way, as we bring a piece of our story.

As many of you might know Samuel and I decided to choose the path of parenthood some years ago. Many of you witnessed us in this path, supported us and gave us your love and courage to continue this decision throughout the years.

Samuel and I have been together for 20 years now :) and the companionship and ups and downs that we have been through have been many, the decision of parenthood has faced us with the decision to continue growing as partners and also tested and stretch us in impossible and unimaginable ways.

We encountered many situations along these years, where it seemed, this decision was not going to come through and so we were forced to pause, look around while Life asked us insistently, if we indeed wanted to be parents. As we faced all these crossroads, with hope and decision Samuel and I decided we would continue to open our hearts to the possibility of parenthood.

And "just like that", on a leap day, almost a year ago... after many uncertainties, courses, discussions, hesitations, crisis and certainties, we got a call letting us know that two beautiful beings, 2 and 4 year old, were waiting for a family. And "just like that" we boarded a plane that same day, to pick up our children the day after. In 24 hours TWO became FOUR. Our home filed with toys, with stories, with snacks, with questions, songs, and "just like that" we embarked in a journey of getting to know each other as daughter, as son, as mother and as father.

The year has brought us so much support already while navigating an unimaginable amount of adjustment, discovery and encounter. And at the same time this year has brought many challenges, as some of you might know adoptions processes not only come with emotional adaptation and learning but also with crazy crazy CRAZY administrative and legal costs.

And so today we are reaching out to ask you that if it is within your possibilities, please consider donating to our fundraiser. This extra economic support will allow us to further settle as a family and have the capacity to worry less about money and offer more of our attention to the emotional process that this year has been and will continue to be.
