Twins Selina and Martina Needs Your Help

Last week my cousin George Tablang, was working in the rice fields in his home town of Santa Maria Philippines. It is rainy season there, and George became ill with pneumonia and needed to be admitted to ICU to receive the oxygen and antibiotics he needed to breath. George was tested twice for COVID 19 at two different hospitals and both tests came back negative. The small village they live in did not have the amenities in their hospital to care for him. Because of the many COVID patients in hospitals, all of the ICU hospital beds in the region were full. George waited a day and a half before there was an ICU bed that became available to him, in a town two hours away called Vigan. George was transported by ambulance along with two nurses and his Aunt Norma. Sadly, when George arrived at the hospital, he no longer had heartbeat and was not able to be resuscitated. He passed away on September 3rd, 2021 at the age of 45.

George has twin 12 year old daughters named Selina and Martina, and he has been raising them as a single father. George also was the caretaker of his elderly parents, my Auntie Conchita and Uncle Rudolpho whom are in their 80's (my mom's eldest sister). George was responsible for financially supporting both his daughters and his parents. As you can imagine, this has been shocking and devastating for our family.

Currently in the Philippines the COVID 19 situation is not good. The country is under lockdown and friends and family are unable to travel between towns without significant quarantine and antigen tests. This has left my Auntie Conchita and Uncle Rudolpho isolated and alone with little support during this incredibly painful time.

I am raising money to set up a trust for George's two daughters, Selina and Martina who have suddenly lost their only parent. Selina and Martina will be under the care of my elderly Auntie Conchita and Uncle Rudopho and this money will go to financially support the girls. 

George was an incredibly hard working individual and an amazing care taker, whenever our family would travel to visit, George was always taking care of us too. He is survived by his two brothers, Henry and Nelson Tablang. He loved his daughters more than anything and words cannot express the gravity of his loss to our family.
