Twinny’s Challenge ❤️

A very dear friend of over 25 years, Danny Twin, was unfortunately diagnosed with pancreatic cancer early last year, 2021.
Following an unsuccessful course of chemotherapy, the doctors informed Danny in May that he only had days left and should enjoy the time he had left with his family.
Despite this terminal situation, Danny refused to accept the timeframe he had been given, time and time again he defied all medical expectations and somehow managed to live for a further 12 months.
This is a terribly tragic story for a man so young, only 41 years old. It’s been devastating for his family, especially his wife Su & his 15 year old son Oscar.
But this is also a story of incredible bravery, humility and inspiration. Danny approached this situation the only way he knew how, with a smile on his face and a can’t be beaten attitude.
To honour my friend and to help raise funds for his son’s future university fees, I have decided to embark on a number of endurance challenges over the next few years.
My fundraising target is £50k, but I can’t do this alone. I’d like as many of Danny’s former friends, colleagues, team-mates from Goldsmiths’s, Defiance, Dulwich Hamlet (etc) to join me and participate in anyway they can.
I have committed myself to planning and participating in as many challenges until the £50k target is hit.
I have 2 huge challenges already planned this year.
I will be running the London Marathon in October.
Welsh 3000’s September 2022
POSTPONED - JUNE 2023 (Due to Weather)
John Maloney (ex team-mate) and I have pulled together a team of 8 people. ( Danny Steele, Emma Ward, Max Jefferys, Neil Curtis, Vinny K50, Ben Shenel, Danny Fitzsimons. ) that will take on the Welsh 3000’s in September - climbing 16 mountains over 3000ft, covering over 30 miles and climbing over 14k feet in 24 hours.
While extremely difficult to complete, this challenge pales in significance to what Danny went through everyday for nearly 365 days.
If anyone would like to suggest or join me in undertaking any challenges over the next 12 months please DM me, for those that are unable to participate, but want to support me, please donate generously and help me fulfil one of Danny’s dreams - to see his amazing son attend University.
