Help Open a Community Arts Center

Donation protected

We are raising funds to open a community arts center in the Greater Binghamton Area.

The Twilight Cove Cinema and Arts Center would be 501(c)3 nonprofit, multi-faceted community arts center, featuring new release indie film screenings, repertory film screenings, live music, live theatre, and much more! In addition to being a community arts hub, the space would also be made available for community programming such as AA meetings, restorative relationship visits for foster kids, and whatever else the community may need.

With the next closest limited-run movie theater being located in Ithaca, we believe it is important to provide the Binghamton area with a home for movies people can’t watch at the big-name competitors.

We also believe in the importance of film history and legacy and will seek to honor that legacy by providing repertory screenings of classic movies and hidden gems at peak times to maximize customers’ exposure to films outside the modern pop culture.

The theater would also provide local, up-and-coming filmmakers with a space to exhibit their films at a low cost.

With 2 active screens, operating costs would be low, while funneling people toward movies and cultural touchstones they are less likely to see otherwise.

For the cost of admission, we would aim low, with no ticket costs exceeding $10, and discounts for students, children, and seniors.
Broome County has a shortage of high-quality, dedicated music venues to serve its influx of students and younger generations. We hope to have a performing arts space where artists of all genres can perform for a large and energetic crowd.

With only one other major venue located in downtown Binghamton, the cinema would provide people closer to Endicott and Vestal with an easily accessible and top-notch experience.

Our goal would be to provide a healthy mix of both local and touring acts, all at a price that is affordable to most ($5-$10 Cover charge)
Another arts commodity that Broome County lacks is a dedicated, intimate theatre space. We believe in the power of stage productions, and the importance of smaller black box theatres, to allow up-and-coming writers and directors to stage previews and performances without breaking the bank.

In addition to black box theatre productions, the space would also be utilized for poetry and book readings, stand-up comedy, and any other art form that would benefit from a small space with sitting room.
To increase the quality of the movie-going experience, we propose the theater be outfitted with a cafe/bar that will serve coffee and baked goods during the day, and alcoholic beverages during film screenings and events.

Our goal is to team up with a local cafe chain to open a location within the theater, that can operate independently to best serve the surrounding location.
