Food should feed people. Not dumpsters.
Why This Matters
Hunger doesn’t always look like homelessness. Sometimes it looks like:
- A working parent skipping meals
- A senior choosing between food and medicine
- A family one bill away from collapse
- Someone too ashamed to ask for help
- Food should never come with shame.
We are starting Simply Fed because we could no longer accept a world where food is wasted while people go hungry, it’s ridiculous — and we’re committed to the fact that food should feed people... not dumpsters.
Every day in the United States, perfectly good food is destroyed — while families quietly go hungry.
Not because food is scarce but because the system is broken.
Simply Fed exists to fix that.
Simply Fed is a modern approach to a food bank, designed to intercept surplus food and place it directly into the hands of people who need it — without shame, long lines, or unnecessary approval processes & barriers.
This campaign funds the first steps required to open Simply Fed and build a permanent, scalable solution to food waste and hunger.
Why This Is Needed — Right Now
Millions of people are struggling silently, they work, pay taxes, they do everything “right.”
But:
- Food prices keep rising
- Wages haven’t kept up
- Jobs are disappearing due to automation and AI
Many people don’t qualify for assistance — or are too ashamed to ask.
At the same time, the U.S. wastes 30–40% of its food supply — over 133 billion pounds every year.
Perfectly edible food is discarded due to:
- Cosmetic standards
- Short sell-by dates
- Overordering
- Corporate and regulatory barriers
It's illegal for a hungry person to take discarded food. This is not a food shortage, it’s a system failure, and it's unacceptable.
What Makes Simply Fed Different
Simply Fed feels more like a small neighborhood market than a food pantry.
- No applications
- No pre-packed boxes
- No standing in lines
- No shame
People choose what works for them, they literally shop for their food and leave with dignity intact, for free. Because a mother with a baby does not need the same food as an elderly widow — and no one should feel humiliated for needing food.
How It Works
- Guests receive two bags
- They browse and select what they need
- They leave
Donations are optional — never required.
Simple. Human. Respectful.
Where the Food Comes From
Simply Fed will be partnering with:
- Grocery stores
- Restaurants
- Bakeries
- Farms
- Food distributors
- Corporations
We use existing federal protections that allow businesses to safely and legally donate surplus food in good faith.
For businesses, donating food:
- Reduces waste and disposal costs
- Improves public trust
- Is legally protected
For communities, it means food feeds people — not landfills.
How This Campaign Grows
- Simply Fed is being built through clear funding milestones.
- As each milestone is reached, we will responsibly increase the campaign goal to reflect the next step toward opening our doors.
This approach allows donors to:
- See real progress
- Understand exactly what their support unlocks
- Our goal is to have our doors open within 10 months
Watch Simply Fed grow step-by-step — not endlessly fundraise
Transparency
Transparency is not optional - On our website we will share:
- Progress updates
- Photos and videos
- Behind-the-scenes work
You will always know where your donation goes!
Nonprofit Status
Simply Fed is currently in the startup stage and actively pursuing 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.
At this time, donations made through this campaign are not tax-deductible, but they directly fund the work required to open Simply Fed. 501(c)(3) approval typically takes 3–12 months. Once approved, all future donations will be tax-deductible.
About the Concept Images You’ll See
You’ll notice some simple concept images on this page.
Please note that they are not professionally designed — and that’s intentional to be transparent -- We are definitely not image experts, but we wanted donors to have a visual idea of:
- The layout
- The flow
- The feeling of the space
These images are conceptual only and meant to help you imagine how Simply Fed will work — not final designs. The interior will be much larger. The concept photo of the main market room will also have a lot more tables/space/aisle-way/etc.
Location
Our first Simply Fed location will open north of Phoenix, Arizona, with plans to expand to additional locations within the next two years.
Timeline
- Initial phase 1 milestone funding secured
- Contracts with stores begin
- Box-truck acquired and supplies for multi weekly pop-up tent style food bank (we will start operating like this until we can afford a facility)
- Facility planning and preparation begins
- Last phase will be securing a permanent building and supplies
If you can donate, thank you, if you can’t, please share.
You are helping us divert food to people, not waste — and restoring dignity in the process.
Thank you for being part of Simply Fed.
