Turning Waste into Wildlife

Donation protected
For years, our neighbourhood in Sutton, London, has struggled with hazardous fly-tipping on a strip of private land near our homes. The site is now an unsafe dumping ground, filled with dangerous waste like asbestos, mattresses, and fridges. This isn’t just an eyesore - it’s a serious health risk for our families and wildlife, and has even put off potential buyers, harming property values.

We’ve followed the proper steps, but the delays have left us facing the consequences. It’s time for action. Together, we can push for a swift and safe resolution that upholds the Environmental Protection Act 1990, protects our community’s health, and safeguards the local environment. Let’s clean this up - once and for all.

We won't wait any longer for action.

We are crowdfunding to raise £3,500 to hire licensed professionals to safely clear the waste and restore the site. Our plan is to act swiftly, protect our health, and reclaim our neighbourhood’s pride.

Why Your Support Matters

Immediate Health & Safety: Removing hazardous waste protects families, children, pets and wildlife from toxic exposure.

Restoring the land as a Green Corridor for Local Wildlife: The site is on one of Sutton's Green Corridors and is next to a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation so a clean up will help our local wildlife too!

Legal Right to Reimbursement: Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, we have the right to clear the nuisance and seek reimbursement from the council for the clearance costs. This means your donation will be used efficiently and responsibly.

What Happens Next?

Once the site is cleared, we will invoice the council to recover the costs. Any funds reimbursed will be invested back into the community to make the space beautiful and welcoming.

Planned improvements include:
  • Creating a wildflower meadow to support pollinators and biodiversity.
  • Adding features such as bird houses and bat boxes.
  • Installing boundary treatments to prevent future fly-tipping.
  • Adding wildflower meadow planting, planters and new trees to enhance green space and improve air quality.

Transparency & Accountability
We commit to full transparency:
  • Regular updates with photos and videos of the cleanup and transformation.
  • Details of fundraising and expenditure.
  • Open communication with donors and residents.
