Hello!

We are the Berkeley Police Association and we are back to organize our annual "Turkey Basket" event for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

For any that are unfamiliar, the BPA and numerous volunteers from the community come together and provide a complete Thanksgiving meal for families in need throughout Berkeley. The families are identified by various organizations that assist the underserved and needing members of the community.

These meals include a whole turkey, sides, bread rolls, and a dessert. They are assembled by numerous volunteers the day before Thanksgiving. Once assembled, these baskets are delivered to the organizations we partner with for distribution.

This event has been a success year after year thanks to contributions from people like you. Last year, thanks to the success of our Gofundme, donations from third party sources including iniBurger (2114 Center Street) and Nuvision Credit Union (3015 San Pablo Ave) and Residence Inn by Marriott (2121 Center Street), and a contribution from the BPA, we were able to distribute a record amount of 1,150 baskets. We were also able to secure and distribute 11,000 lbs of whole potatoes. The baskets were put together by own members, Berkeley Mayor Ishii, Berkeley Police Chief Louis, Berkeley Councilmember Tregub, staff members from Nuvision Credit Union, and a bunch of donors like you.

In all the years of us organizing the event, we have never had to say no to a community group that has asked for assistance in providing Thanksgiving meals. With your support, we hope to have an event that is bigger than ever.

The success of the event is only made possible by donations from people like you, support from the community and our continuing strong partnerships with other organizations. The organizations we partner with are The Fourth St Business District, EP Wealth Advisors, Our City Center Church, Oakland Grocery Outlet, Pacific Agri, Argonaut Garage, NuVision Credit Union, the Multicultural Institute, the Berkeley Police Department, iniBurger (2114 Center Street), Residence Inn by Marriott (2121 Center Street), and many more.
