Totnes Refugee Medical Response

Donation protected
We are a group of doctors and locals from the Totnes area who are travelling to Lesbos in January 2016 to help the thousands of refugees  arriving daily by boat. While there are plenty of clothes arriving for those who survive the crossing, there is a strong need for medical expertise so we are volunteering our time to provide direct-on-the-ground help.

All money raised will be spent on medical provisions and medicines, food and water for those in need. These are babies, children, teenagers, mothers and fathers who have arrived with nothing; surviving the horrific sea crossing from Turkey in the middle of winter is just the beginning of the challenges they have ahead of them, so we want to help them get the best possible new start.

100% of what you donate will be going to help them - there are no admin costs or charity overheads and we are covering the costs of the trip ourselves.  We will also be contributing directly to the Greek economy by buying provisions for the refugees from local businesses.

We will be travelling with the volunteer organisation Mercy Worldwide; read more about their work and the refugee crisis at http://www.mwtrust.com/.

We are so grateful for any donation you could manage to enable us to help as many people as possible.

We are also holding a fundraising gig with local Rock band Revolvin' Door  on 19th December at 8pm in Broadhempston Village Hall.
Tickets are on sale at Broadhempston village shop or contact us through this page.
