2025-2026 Miss Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant

My name is Kendall Tyson, and I am a first-year student at the University of Georgia. I am double majoring in political science and international affairs on a pre-law track.
As a young black woman and an aspiring lawyer, I am passionate about addressing the multitude of barriers that limit access to justice, especially for marginalized communities such as my own. Women, particularly Black women, are extremely underrepresented in the legal field, being less than 2% of lawyers in America. This statistic motivates me to advocate for equality and inspire others to pursue their goals as I am reaching for mine.
As a contestant for the 2024 Miss Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant, I am fundraising for the Georgia Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Supreme Court of Georgia. Since 1967, the Georgia Bar Foundation has been promoting access to justice by funding organizations like the Georgia Innocence Project, Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, and the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network, whose purpose is to serve individuals who cannot afford legal representation. These efforts directly impact the Athens and Metro Atlanta areas by supporting vulnerable populations in navigating legal challenges.
Your support will help to break down system barriers, create more opportunities for underserved communities, and empower individuals to achieve their dreams. Thank you for supporting the Georgia Bar Foundation and my journey as a Miss Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant contestant. Together, we can support meaningful changes and I thank you so much for your support.
