Volunteering in Costa Rica
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
My name is Eva, and I am currently a student at my local college in Cranbrook B.C. where I am studying social work. This summer, I have a goal of travel while making a positive impact on the country that I am experiencing, and that's where I could use your help.
I am currently raising funds for a 3 week trip to San Jose, Costa Rica, where I will be providing much-needed support within local community centers, daycares, schools, soup kitchens and kindergartens. My overall job will be administering childcare by working one-on-one with the children, organizing games and activities, providing education around hygiene, and assisting with homework. Most of my volunteer work is focused on assisting children from immigrant communities in Costa Rica that are going through diversities such as social issues in regards to poverty, homelessness, and unemployment.
My trip will be from August 12 to September 4, and I am volunteering through an organization known as International Volunteer Headquarters (IVHQ), which is helping me get set up with a host family who will graciously provide me with a roof over my head throughout the duration of my trip. Find out more about IVHQ here.
All funds will go directly to the cost of my trip which is $1300 for meals, lodging, and training, as well as flights which are roughly $800 for a round trip.
Any support will be so greatly appreciated! It isn't easy to ask for donations but I am truly passionate about this opportunity and so I am putting those feelings aside. I could not thank you enough for any donation of the smallest amount. Aside from money and even more importantly, your prayers and thoughts will be cherished and are needed more than you know.
Thank you so much for your time and support!
