For Marley

My precious niece, Marley has endured more than any child should. She has been in and out of DCS custody due to abuse and neglect and substance abuse since she was four. She’s 12 years old now and was placed with my husband Steve and I, and our five kids last night. Finally!!! We are hoping to become her forever home this time, and provide her with the love, stability, care, comfort and rehabilitation so she can have the best of her remaining childhood. She has endured things no child should, and has been failed by those who were supposed to protect her. No more. It stops here, with me.

Marley is an amazing little girl, and we have been fighting for her nonstop to finally get to this point. All thanks to God who had her in the palm of his hand, and to all of you who prayed on her behalf.

So many have reached out, asking how to help. Marley came with a small suitcase and a little box. Basically nothing. It’s heartbreaking. We’d also like to get her back in volleyball (she was amazing) and gymnastics with her cousins, and

possibly tutoring since she has missed 54 days this school year. Any amount you feel led to give will go straight to Marley and providing for her needs. Who knows. Maybe even a college fund, because she can do anything she sets her mind to, which she will be reminded of daily. She has a bright future.
