Community First Responders Castlecomer

We have recently developed a group of Community First Responders for Castlecomer and Surrounding areas. A Community First Responders (CFR) is a non-medical volunteers who are trained to attend certain types of emergency calls in the area where they live or work. Our aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes before the ambulance crew arrives. Our role is to help stabilise the patient and provide the appropriate care including CPR & defibrillation, until the more highly skilled ambulance crew arrives on scene to take over the treatment. We are trying to raise funds to purchase a number of defibrillators and first aid kits for our members. All donations are very much appreciated.
