I am writing this on behalf of my daughter, Heather.

She is currently living with my two grandchildren in a spare bedroom of a friend because she has left her husband. There was no physical abuse, but a lot of everything else.

She was not allowed to work (yeah, you read that right) and right now is in a $12/hr position trying to scrape by. She is trying to better that as fast as she can, but isn't getting any bites yet.

She needs to get a place of her own, and file for divorce. Both are rather urgent. The attorney she has found so far wants a $2000 deposit towards the $3500 total in order to do anything.

She is asking for any assistance possible. If anyone knows of any resources in the DFW area that could/would help, or a family attorney more able and/or willing to work with her, or any type of funding (grant/loan/etc.) available, please by all means let us know.

We are doing what we can to help with immediate needs, but right now that isn't much and doesn't go toward the bigger picture.
