Watching someone you love be accused unjustly is never easy. My brother has served in law enforcement with honor, and he is choosing to stand firm rather than step aside simply to satisfy pressure. His conscience is clear, he knows his truth, and he believes that integrity will prevail.

Those who truly know him understand his character, work ethic, and commitment to service. He is a big-hearted person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. If you don’t know him personally, please know this is the type of person he is before passing judgment. Instead of taking the easy way out and resigning to quiet the noise, he is choosing to defend his name and see this through.

According to KRIS 6 News, the station has been requesting documents from Corpus Christi Police Department since November and has not received them. KRIS 6 News has now involved the Attorney General’s Office in an effort to obtain those records. Despite this, CCPD leadership proceeded in a manner that treated him as a dangerous offender, including the issuance of unusually high bond amounts.

On Friday, December 12th, around noon, he received a call informing him that there were three warrants for his arrest. He asked if he could turn himself in the following Monday and was told no—that he needed to surrender that same day by end of day. He explained that he needed a short amount of time to arrange care for his dogs, which are his responsibility. Within approximately 15–30 minutes of that call, a captain contacted him stating they were on the way with a unit to take him into custody.

At that time, he was already in the process of taking his dogs to our parents, the only available caregivers. Despite this, CCPD issued a TLETS BOLO across south central Texas, as though his whereabouts were unknown, even though he was actively attempting to comply and could have surrendered himself in any county. He complied by turning himself in, after he dropped the dogs off.

We are trusting the process, standing strong as a family, and believing the truth will come to light in time. We appreciate the continued support and prayers as he walks through this challenge with courage, and we kindly ask for privacy and understanding as our family navigates this season.
