The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women's Shelter (Google "HKWS") desperately needs funds for urgent repairs to their new home for women and children fleeing domestic violence. They need to relocate in just 8 weeks, or they will be without a roof over their heads.

19 June 2021 is my 42nd birthday. To celebrate life, the universe, and everything, and above all to raise funds for the legends at HKWS, I've committed to conquer 42.2 km in a messy marathon (run, row, bike, ski) to raise money for the new home.

It's going to hurt, please make it worth my while!

The long version

The lease on HKWS's current property has expired. A new premises has been secured, but it requires urgent repairs and compliance works before HKWS is able to move in.

These renovations will enable HKWS to offer a safe sanctuary for women WITH children (for the first time). The required work includes:

- Reconfiguring rooms
- Renovating a bathroom and fixing leaks
- Repairing a damaged balcony and walls
- Rehabilitating the interior
- Creating a private, secure and segregated space for women with children
- Essential security including high fences, cameras and monitored entrances
- Energy efficiency and environmental and financial sustainability

On 19 June 2021, I turn 42 (woohoo!). Please wish me a very happy birthday by sponsoring my "messy marathon" to raise money for HKWS's new home as I slog through 42 gruelling kilometres on the treadmill, rower, bike and ski machine at the Epping YMCA.
