Tristan's Travel Plans to America
This campaign aims to unite two lovers whom are millions of miles apart. I live in New York, and my boyfriend, Tristan, lives in Ireland. We desperately wish to see each other, however it's been difficult for Tristan to find any work where he lives. On top of that, his family has been treating him and abusing him for several years.
His mother constantly berates him about being jobless, she is withholding personal information from him (i.e. a savings account made under his name, his passport, etc.), and his mental stability is at its all-time lowest. He can't even leave his own home without being questioned where he's going. it's a highly toxic, controlling atmosphere.
Tristan's stepdad and younger brother are not much help either. His brother has stolen personal items from his room, broken others, and has taken money from him for his own personal needs. He's also know to be very violent when he's angered or very drunk. Tristan's had to keep him from breaking doors or smashing holes in walls several times.
It's not a home to him anymore. He has no privacy, he's not comfortable talking to any of his family, he can't get any sleep, he's being treated like a child, and they're keeping him there by withholding his passport and bank account information.
There is some hope but we need help achieving it.
My two roommates and I are offering to house Tristan over in America for a month. He may not be able to pack all of his valuables in Ireland for this trip, but this will give him a good month to escape his family and for us to discuss his next step forward.
The $600 goal would cover for a plane ticket to America. Any amount you can give would help out in the long run. I will help cover Tristan for any food purchases or other needs when he arrives.
If you can spare some change, it would help me see the love of my life and have him escape a toxic family lifestyle. We don't want to force this on anyone who can't donate though. The best way you can help is spread our story around as much as you can.
We appreciate anything and everything you choose to do. It would mean the absolute world to us.
Thank you.
