Triple Whammy: USAID cuts, Tariffs and Hurricanes--help!

Hello friends,

We're an American family hit by a triple whammy that needs help paying of some high-interest loans. I'm one of the USAID workers laid off after only two weeks on the job. My State Unemployment wont cover us bc I was a Consultant. My husbands work at a bike factory (which barely covers rent) is being hard hit by steel tariffs, ICE raids and a deal they had for supplies with Canada that of course fell through. We also have no medical coverage as Trump just cut $110M for NC (my state) health care--840,000 people will lose Medicaid coverage, as well as Food Stamps. 

As for my job search: I apply for 3-4 jobs /day and have a 30% time consulting gig until June, but I've two things against me now: (1), locally, Asheville NC got slammed in Hurricane Helene last fall and is still in recovery mode--most businesses were wiped out (so not much hiring). (2)--I am now competing for work with 10,000 of my colleagues in a vanishing industry.  

My husband and I can cover bills and food with 2 jobs each, but these loans will go to 17% interest ($4,800) and 29% interest ($4,880) in the next couple months, and this will sink us--we may very well lose our home.

So with owed head, knowing so many are struggling now, am asking for a lot of people to chip in a little. Thanks so much for anything you can give...
