Do you enjoy hiking or biking on the wonderful array of trails we have in Santa Barbara County? Well, you may not know that the SAGE Trail Alliance has been a backbone of trail stewardship in this area for decades. If you check out their website at sagetrail.org you will be amazed at the depth and breadth of the projects they are taking on, maintaining heavily used trails, restoring trails after storm damage, and building new trails. In addition, they have volunteer events where folks learn about trail maintenance first hand, they have made trails stroller and wheel chair accessible at Parma and Elings parks, and they have supported local cycling clubs and youth leagues promoting community, active lifestyles, among other great things for our young people.
